Reacting to the allegations by the ruling MDA government that was nothing was done regarding the inter-state border row with Assam, Mukul Sangma said that he never sat on the matter while he was the CM.

In fact, Mukul Sangma shifted the blame on the Assam government and said that they never got back with the Meghalaya government on the matter. Sangma said that proper documents were provided on the matter to Assam but they never got back to Meghalaya to resolve the matter.

Mukul Sangma even went on to state that the Assam government was waiting for a change of power in Meghalaya and hence the process to resolve the matter was taken up once Conrad Sangma became the Chief Minister of Meghalaya.
