The Meghalaya government is all set to release the salaries of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan teachers for the period of October 2021 to February 2022.
This was decided after a meeting was held between the leaders of the Meghalaya SSA Teachers’ Association and state education minister, Lahkmen Rymbui. The first instalment would see the release of the salaries for the months of October and November. The second instalment of the salaries will be released once funds arrive from the centre.

The aggrieved SSA teachers had earlier today staged a protest and had even planned to storm the state secretariat. But the leaders pacified the protestors and told them to assemble at the Malki grounds.
Following this, a meeting was held between the MSSASA and the education minister, following which it was decided that salaries for the months of October and November would be released, and the second instalment of salaries would be released once funds arrive from the Centre.
Talking to the media after the meeting, MSSASA president Aristotle Rymbai talked about the outcome of the meeting.
The Sarva Siksha Abhiyan teachers of Meghalaya today took to the streets in protest against the state government’s failure to fulfil their demands by releasing their pending salaries.
