Meghalaya BJP opens options for 5 Cong rebel MLAs

This was stated by BJP leader AL Hek who said that they are ready to walk together in a bid to give the best governance to the people of Meghalaya.

The Meghalaya State BJP has flung open its gate to the five suspended congress MLAs, Leader of the Opposition AITC Dr Mukul Sangma, and all other MLAs and members who are unhappy with their own party to join the saffron brigade.

This was stated by BJP leader AL Hek who said that they are ready to walk together in a bid to give the best governance to the people of Meghalaya.

Hek said that the BJP’s doors are open to all the five suspended Congress MLAs and former Chief Minister and TMC leader Mukul Sangma in this regard. Hek however clarified that none of the five suspended Congress MLAs have come up to them for talks yet.

Hek further said that the BJP in Meghalaya is firmly standing its ground and faces no threat from any political quarter whatsoever.

The senior BJP leader added that while they are open to new faces within the party, they do not face any danger from others which puts them in a position of concern.

“We welcome Dr Mukul Sangma all other AITC members all other members of political parties who are there and not happy. Our doors are open we are there to walk together and ensure to give the best and clean governance to the people of the state,” said senior BJP leader AL Hek on Saturday.

“If they come I will open the door myself to the BJP house and it will be a warm welcome,” he added.

The decision of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to suspend its five remaining MLAs in Meghalaya for a period of three years is unlikely to have any effect on the legislators who have already set out to seek greener pastures.
