Shillong-Byrnihat rail line: KHADC CEM defends decision to refuse NOC

The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council has defended its decision to not grant the No Objection Certificate for the proposed Shillong Byrnihat railway line.

KHADC CEM Titosstarwell Chyne said that the council can’t do much about it as stakeholders like Rangbah Shnong, headmen, and others are not willing to provide land for the project.

However, Chyne maintained that the process would continue and that the KHADC would engage with stakeholders to pursue the matter.
