Despite official invitations, the ten Kuki MLAs have not responded to participate in the upcoming Manipur Assembly session starting on July 31, Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, Satyabrata Singh told Northeast Live.
According to Singh, the invitation letters were sent five days ago, yet there has been no response from any of the Kuki MLAs. The Speaker emphasized the importance of the upcoming session, which will address the prevailing law and order situation in the state and discussions on the state budget.
“This is an important budget session, and all MLAs, including the Kuki MLAs, should participate to discuss all issues,” said Singh.
The Speaker added that while he cannot specify what will be tabled in the upcoming assembly session, topics might include the current situation in Manipur and other state development matters.
He said, “I cannot say what will be tabled in the parliament session now. Let’s see. There might be talks on the situation in Manipur. There might also be talks on development of the state and other related talks might take place. We have sent official invitation letters to the Kuki MLA’s.
