The race to the Chief Minister’s post continues in Manipur with the BJP high command summoning caretaker CM N Biren Singh and MLA Thongam Biswajit Singh to New Delhi once again.

Apart from N Biren and Thongam Biswajit, former Assembly speaker Y Khemchand has also left for Delhi.
The development comes at a time when all eyes are on the announcement of the CM’s name.

While Thongam Biswajit left for Delhi this morning, N Biren Singh boarded the flight shortly before 3 pm.

This is the second visit of caretaker CM N Biren Singh and Thongam Biswajit to Delhi this week.

While there have been intense speculations over who could be the next CM of Manipur, both N Biren Singh and Thongam Biswajit have maintained complete silence on the issue stating that the parliamentary board will take the final call.

As per sources, the two leaders are likely to have a crucial meet with the party high command this evening and are expected to return to the state tomorrow.

The BJP which secured a majority on its own in Manipur has not been able to announce the CM’s name yet. While N Biren Singh and Thongam Biswajit Singh are the top contenders for the post, there has been no indication whatsoever officially on who has the edge
