Singer Alobo Naga calls for peace among the Kuki and Meitei communities of Manipur

Amid the ongoing unrest in Manipur, Naga singer Alobo Achumi, popularly known as Alobo Naga has called for peace among the Kuki and Meitei brothers and sisters and urged both the parties to come to an agreement to bring peace in the state.

The Naga singer also expressed distress over the hatred between the two communities and said that hatred and violence will beget more hatred and violence.

“Going through tweets from my Kuki and Meitei brothers and sisters on social media, it is very disturbing to see so much hatred and animosity. Yes the situation is unfortunate and atrocious currently but hatred and violence will begets more hatred and violence,” Alobo Naga wrote on twitter.

“How I wish both the parties can come to an agreement to discuss the best outcome soon. I know it will take time, but will keep praying for PEACE, LOVE & COMFORT,” Alobo Naga added.

Earlier, Nagaland actress and Model, Carol Andrea Kevichusa strongly condemned the ongoing violence in Manipur and appealed for peace.

Actors Lin Laishram and Bijou Thaangjam from Manipur also condemned the violence going on in their home state and appealed for peace.

Bollywood celebrities Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra Sonu Sood, Richa Chada, Kiara Advani, Ritiesh Deshmukh, Renuka Shahane, Urmila Matondkar and the likes of Kamal Hasan, Pa Rajnith and American singer Mary Millben have recently condemned the Manipur viral video incident where two women were paraded naked in Manipur’s Thoubal district.

It may be mentioned here that Bollywood actress Richa Chadha was the first from the industry to express concern about the ongoing violence in Manipur.
