Shirui Lily festival all set to welcome guests in Ukhrul
Not many know about Manipur's state flower, the Shirui lily. It is an endangered flower that cannot be replanted anywhere in the world.
The four-day-long Shirui Lily Festival celebrated in Manipur’s Ukhrul district will be inaugurated by Governor La Ganesan and Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Wednesday.
The 4-day long Shirui Lily festival will go on till May 28 and will be celebrated across multiple venues including the Main venue Shirui village Ground where the inauguration will take place.
Some programs of the festival will be also performed at other venues including the Bakshi Ground and TNL Ground.

The festival tries to promote sustainable tourism and give impetus to conservation efforts of the state flower, Shirui Lily, which is endemic to the Kashong Hills in Shirui village.
