Manipur: Senapati District Students’ Association celebrates Golden Jubilee

The Senapati District Students Association, which happens to be the apex student body of the district, celebrated its Golden Jubilee on attaining 50 years of its establishment under the theme,

The Senapati District Students Association, which happens to be the apex student body of the district, celebrated its Golden Jubilee on attaining 50 years of its establishment under the theme, “Prospering together.”

The student body had completed 50 years back in 2020, but the Jubilee was postponed due to the pandemic.

Addressing the gathering, Ch. Loli Sheshuna, Convenor, COC, stated that Senapati occupies a very important place in Naga history and in the context of the Naga political journey.

He added the student body was formed in the year 1970 with James Lokho Kolakhe and Benjamin Banee as its first President and General Secretary and had journeyed together for 50 years as a family.

Meanwhile, delegations from the All Naga Students Association Manipur, All Tribal Students Union Manipur, Naga People’s Organization, Naga Students Federation, United Naga Council, and Global Naga Forum attended the event.

Federating units of the district’s apex student body, including the Mao Students Union, Zeliangrong Students Union, Poumai Naga Students Union, Thangal Students Union, and Maram Students Union presented musical ensembles, cultural items, folk tunes, choreography, and cultural fusion, respectively, during the program.
