As the mobile internet services are moving towards the 5th generation with assured superior connectivity and enhanced network speed, the situation is somewhat very different in Moreh Town, located along the Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur’s Tegnoupal District.
When it comes to connectivity, residents in Moreh have major concerns as since 2019 telecom services have almost been defunct, which will have a further worsening scenario in 2022.

This network connectivity problem has affected almost everyone, from students to business people to banks, in this frontier town in India. There are also reports that people in Moreh are using a network from Myanmar to communicate.
Meanwhile, a businessman mentioned the hardships he is facing in running his business smoothly. The businessman further mentioned that an effective telecommunication service is vital for the fulfillment of the Act East Policy as Moreh is located just along the Indo-Myanmar border.
