The elected members of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly took oath of office today.
The newly-elected MLAs include 32 from the BJP, 7 from NPP, 6 JD(U), 5 each from the Congress and the NPF, 2 from the KPA, and 3 independents.
The oath of office was administered by pro-tem speaker Sorokhaibam Rajen Singh.
Meanwhile, post the oath-taking ceremony, Caretaker Chief Minister N Biren Singh spoke to Northeast Live correspondent Sharat Chandra on the oath-taking ceremony and formation of the new government. CM N Biren Maintained that the party high command will take the call on government formation.
And, among those who took oath were 5 women MLAs. We also have reactions coming in from KPA MLA from Saikul constituency Kimneo Haokip.
