Militants Targetting Educational Institutions, Extorting Money. Are They Having A Free Run In Imphal Valley?

Militants belonging to two proscribed outfits were nabbed by the police while engaging in extortion activities in educational institutions.
Are militants having a free run in Imphal valley in Manipur, targetting educational institutions and other innocent people?
Well, in a big development in the state, militants belonging to two proscribed outfits were nabbed while engaged in extortion activities in educational institutions.
As per reports, police arrested two active cadres of the proscribed KCP (PWG) outfit.
The two militants were arrested from the state’s Imphal West district and were stated to be involved in extortion activities.
The two militants identified as H Kenjen Singh and Irom Mikoi Singh had been involved in extortion activities from various educational institutes around the Imphal area.
During the time of their arrest, police seized from them three mobile handsets, one wallet, one aadhar card, over Rs 30,000 in cash and one two-wheeler vehicle.
With this, Manipur Police is continuing with its crackdown on extortion and illegal activities of proscribed outfits in the state.
Meanwhile, Manipur Police arrested another two militants who were engaged in extortion activities from educational institutions.
Police arrested two cadres of the proscribed PLA outfit in Imphal West district.
The two arrested militants have been identified as W Tombi Singh and T Hemchandra Singh.
They were involved in exortion activities from educational institutions and private businesses. From the two arrested militants, police seized four mobile phones, one wallet, over Rs 13,000 in cash and one four-wheeler vehicle.
It may be mentioned here that most recently an alleged incident has sparked controversy where a Naga lady was allegedly assaulted by suspected UNLF Pambei cadres.
The alleged incident evoked sharp reactions from NSCN-IM who called the alleged incident as condemnable and criminal.
