The Tuipi River bridge in Churachandpur is in a precarious condition owing to the heavy flow of the Tuivai river.
The condition has come to such a passé that people inhibited in the neighbouring areas are unable to use the bridge and have thus been cut off from the prime areas.
Given the situation, the local MLA Vungzagin Valte convened a key meet with the DCs and other top officials at the DC Office Conference Hall in Tuibong to know on the progress of the construction of Tuipi River Bridge as the deadline had already elapsed.
Taking strong exception, the MLA questioned the officials of NHIDCL present in the meet as to why the construction was not yet completed. He instructed the officials to construct the bridge at the earliest to ensure communication is unhindered.
The MLA directed the officials to complete the construction within 25 days time, before June 10.
Meanwhile, MLA Valte also slammed NHIDCL officials for further damaging the bridge by plying heavy vehicles weighing at least 20 tons.
