Manipur Women Stages Protest, Demands Revocation of President’s Rule

Protestors demanded removal of President’s Rule from Manipur as well as opposed the removal of CM N. Biren Singh.
Hundreds of women came out in the streets of Imphal today demanding the reinstatement of Biren Singh as Chief Minister and revocation of President’s Rule from Manipur.
Womenfolk from Nongpok Sanjenbam village in Imphal East staged a protest march and sit-in, calling for the formation of a government and opposing the imposition of President’s Rule.
Protestors demanded removal of President’s Rule from Manipur as well as opposed the removal of CM N. Biren Singh. Protesters stressed that the state, embroiled in turmoil for the past two years, requires strong, stable leadership rather than political infighting.
The protestors also voiced their concerns over the disunity among legislators, accusing them of prioritizing power struggles over addressing the urgent issues facing the state. The protest highlighted the critical need for political stability amid the ongoing unrest in Manipur.
