Manipur war on drugs: Drug peddler held; ‘heroin’ recovered
Preliminary verification revealed that the drug was brought from one individual in Thoubal District for a delivery in Guwahati.
Continuing the war on drugs in Manipur, a team of Narcotic and Border Affairs department arrested a drug peddler near the Manipur High Court and seized heroin powder weighing 300 grams from his possession.
The peddler has been identified as Mohammad Aktar Khan from Lilong Nungei in Thoubal District. He was arrested at the northern side of High court Imphal while the NAB team was carrying out random frisking and checking activities along National Highway 2 Imphal-Dimapur road.
At least, 300 grams of Heroin Powder concealed in 25 soap cases along with a TATA truck was seized from the peddler.
Police sources also informed that preliminary verification revealed that the drug was brought from one individual in Thoubal District for a delivery in Guwahati.
Meanwhile a regular case has been registered at NAB-Police Station for further investigation.
