Manipur unrest: Perpetrators will face the law, Government of India assures Kuki delegation

Despite the peace efforts and presence of forces, intermittent violence continues to take place in the periphery areas.
The Government of India has reportedly assured a delegation of Kuki leaders that those guilty of committing violence in Manipur will face the law, but made it clear that a political solution can only be arrived at after normalcy returns in the state.
The reports come in the wake of The Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum or the ITLF and the Zomi Revolutionary Organisation which is a constituent of the United People’s Front or UPF, holding talks with the Centre yesterday discussing the current situation in Manipur. As per sources, the two organizations were called to Delhi for talks.
Significantly, despite the peace efforts and presence of forces, intermittent violence continues to take place in the periphery areas.
Earlier yesterday, at least 3 persons were killed in a fresh gunfight near the Bishnupur-Churachandpur border.
