Manipur unrest: NPP MLA M Rameshwar Singh wants surgical strike against external forces

Manipur NPP MLA from Kakching M Rameshwar Singh has come up with a new ‘solution’ to ensure permanent peace in the violence affected state.

Singh feels that there must be a surgical strike against forces who are operating from foreign land to trigger unrest in Manipur.

It is apparent that the MLA is batting for a similar surgical strike carried out by the Indian Army in 2016 against terror modules operating from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The MLA citing Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that it was clear that external forces were behind creating trouble in the state.

The MLA who was part of the 40-member delegation to submit a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his thoughts on the prevailing situation and said, “We had requested the Union Home Minister that some agencies are trying to build a narrative saying that all Kuki militants are in camps now and the weapons are all with them. The doubt is coming to the people of Manipur when this kind of narrative is built. Than from where is the fire coming? Who is firing from the other side?”

Referring to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s speech in the Parliament on the Manipur issue, M Rameshwar Singh said, “So this is very clear from the statements made by Union Home Minister that there are some illegal immigrants, illegal Kuki militants coming from across the border. As I have been always saying that there has been an external aggression involved in this where the national security is also compromised. It is important for us not only for saving the state of Manipur but also for saving the nation that something very, some impactful effective action, some surgical strike should be done so that the problem is solved for once and all.”
