Manipur unrest: Mob burns down pvt godown of minister L Susindro Meitei; tries to attack his home

In yet another incident of violence, an irate mob went on a rampage and set ablaze a private godown owned by state Food and Civil Supplies minister L Susindro Meitei located at Ishirou in Imphal East.
The mob also set 2 mini trucks on fire which were parked at the godown complex.
The mob reportely also tried to torch the residence of Khurai MLA and minister L Susindro Meitei. Security forces rushed to the spot and diffused the situation.
Forces resorted to tear gas shelling to bring the situation under control. No loss of human life or injury was reported in the incident.
Reports further stated that a BJP party office was also torched near the Sajiwa Jail.
The incident of arson and violence that reportedly began at around 9:30 pm Friday continued for almost an hour.
This is the 10th such incident when a minister or an MLA has been targetted amid the prevailing turmoil in the state that began on May 3.

On June 16, an angry mob tried to attack to vandalise state BJP President Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi’s residence near Porampet in Imphal.

On June 14, the residence of Minister Nemcha Kipgen in Imphal was burnt down by miscreants. The incident took place at Lamphel locality of Imphal.

On June 8, two bike-borne miscreants hurled a low-intensity Improvised explosive device (IED) at the gate of the Naoriya Pakhanglakpa BJP MLA Soraisam Kebi in Imphal East.
On June 4, miscreants burnt down the house of Congress MLA R K Ranjit in Sugnu, under Kakching district of Manipur.
On May 28, the house of BJP MLA Kh Raghumani Singh at Lamphel in Imphal West district was vandalised. He is the Uripok MLA.
On May 25, the residence of Union minister of state for External Affairs and Education RK Ranjan Singh was attacked and vandalized. Alert personnel of the Manipur Police and the Rapid Action Force (RAF) had swung into action to bring the situation under control.
On the same night, in a second incident, an angry mob tried to attack the residence of Manipur Minister Th Biswajit Singh. However, security forces managed to stop the mob much before they could reach the Minister’s residence.
On May 24, an irate mob had vandalized Manipur’s Public Works Department, Youth Affairs & Sports Minister and Bishnupur MLA, Govindas Konthoujam’s residence.
Earlier, on May 4 Vungzagin Valte, a BJP MLA, was attacked by a mob in Imphal while he was returning from the state secretariat after a meeting with Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
