Top civil society groups from the state had a lengthy meeting with executive members of the Manipur University Students Union and the Manipur University Teachers Association and discussed the implication of the current impasse.

The civil society groups highlighted that the future of over 10,000 students are at stake due to the agitation and if the impasse continues for another two or three weeks, the students run the risk of missing out on an academic year.

The meeting was on the same page about the fact that the government had a bigger role to play.
