This traditional paddy transplantation festival of the Poumai Nagas of Senapati district is observed every year during the early week of Khana Khou, the traditional month of the month of May.

The first day of Purul (Hiimai) Paoki consisted of preparing the meat of various animals and fish, and the second day consisted of uprooting and gathering rice saplings from a dry field that had been sown for more than a month in the past.

On the evening of the second day, traditional wrestling competitions took place where youths from different villages came and competed.

The third day consists of the main event of the festival where both young and old go to the field for plantations. The most highlighted part of the celebrations however is the feeling of friendship and closeness that comes as the people unitedly take part in the celebrations.
