Manipur police foils robbery attempt; 19-year-old held

A 19-year-old identified as Choungmirem Koireng from Longa Koireng, broke into the ATM vestibule by breaking the lock of the shutters.

Manipur Police on Thursday successfully foiled a robbery attempt, at an ATM vestibule near Langjing Bazaar in Imphal West.

As per reports, a 19-year-old identified as Choungmirem Koireng from Longa Koireng, broke into the ATM vestibule by breaking the lock of the shutters.

As he was trying to rob the ATM, the alarm from the CCTV went off alerting the Bank.

Soon Bank officials informed the Imphal West Police control room. The Control room informed Patsoi Police Station and in no time a team of Patsoi Police went and apprehended the robber from the spot.

No cash was recovered from his possession as the robber could not remove money from the ATM. The robber was then arrested for further investigation.
