The death toll in the mortar explosion that took place in Manipur’s Churachandpur yesterday evening has gone up to three.
The latest victim has been identified as 18-year-old CT John who had been admitted at the Raj Medicity Hospital last night after he sustained serious injuries. As per sources, John succumbed to his injuries at about 1 am.
Meanwhile, at least 7 others received injuries when a mortar exploded near the BSF camp in Churachandpur last evening.

The explosion took place at Mualkawi village near the Subsidiary Training centre of BSF in Churachandpur.
As per sources, some residents from the area came to collect scraps in the area when the mortar exploded.
The explosion took place when some individuals tried to break the mortar into pieces.
