Manipur: Mobile Internet Suspension Extended by 2 More Days till Nov 25

Manipur government suspended the internet after the recent violence on November 16, in view of the prevailing law and order situation.

The Manipur government on Saturday extended the suspension on mobile internet services in the nine districts of Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur, Jiribam and Pherzawl by two more days till November 25.

“The state government after reviewing the prevailing law and order situation decided to continue suspension of mobile internet … services in the territorial jurisdiction of Imphal West, Imphal East, Kakching, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Churachandpur and Kangpokpi, Jiribam and Pherzawl of Manipur for another two days,” the official order said.

On November 16, the administration imposed the suspension on both broadband and mobile internet services.

However, it lifted the restriction on broadband services on Tuesday, considering the hardships faced by common people, healthcare facilities, educational institutions and other offices.
