Manipur: Meira Paibis try to storm residence of Union minister RK Ranjan Singh in Imphal East

Dramatic scenes were witnessed in Imphal East today as Meira Paibis tried to storm the residence of Union Minister of State for External Affairs RK Ranjan Singh today. However, alert security personnel prevented the protestors from reaching the residence of the Union Minister.
The agitating women hailing from Wangkhei, Kongba took to the streets seeking justice for the victims who were paraded naked by miscreants with video clips going viral.
Deeply concerned and unhappy with the state of affairs the women folk demanded for a much more proactive role by the Union Minister in terms of raising the issue in the Parliament.
Speaking to Northeast Live Ahem Huidrom who led the agitation said,”We Emas are all gathered here to appeal RK Ranjan Singh to put up our grievances in the Parliament. Couple of days back some videoclips were put up in social media, regarding that a team of Women Commission from Delhi has also come here. I would like to appeal them to come forward and see the reality and find out actually as to whatever has happened to ensure equal justice.”
The agitators also demanded that President Droupadi Murmu, Governor Anusuiya Uikey and Manipur BJP president A Sharda Devi must take steps to ensure that permanent peace prevails soon.
In this regard, Ahem Huidrom stated,”I want to request President Droupadi Murmu, Governor Anusiya Uikey and Manipur BJP president A Sharda Devi, the three mothers to see the trauma that the mothers in the state are undergoing. I want to appeal them that they must bring peace as soon as possible. We are eagerly waiting as to when there will be a solution. peace is still eluding since violence erupted 3 months ago.”
