Locals of Khangshim village in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district took to the streets today to vent their anger against a grenade attack targetting a house late Sunday night. Women in large numbers joined the protest and condemned the attack in strongest terms.
K Moikhan President of All Tribal Women’s Organization said that the people of Khangshim village as well as the entire state are peace loving. Moikhan added that such incidents always derail peace and disturb peaceful coexistence forcing the people to live under fear psychosis.
According to reports, the house of Milan Khaling located at Khangsim village udner Machi police station was targetted when unidentified miscreants hurled a hand grenade late Sunday night. However, no one was injured in the blast.
The protest was jointly organized by the Khangshim Napui Inlam (KNI) and the All Tribal Women’s Organization (ATWO).
