Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee today staged a protest at the campus of the state Congress Bhawan in Imphal West, demanding the handing over of the Pallel Drugs Case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
It is to be mentioned that on January 16, a combined team of District Commando Kakching and Pallel police seized a huge amount of heroin powder and WY drugs worth Rs 3.35 crore and arrested five commando personnel along NH-102 (Imphal-Moreh).

In response to a state Congress demand, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that it is not the first time that state police are involved.
The Chief Minister reminded that during the previous government rule, as many as 28 drugs-related cases were counted from 2012 to 2016 in which state police were involved.
The investigation into the Pallel drugs case is underway.
