The Kuki Students’ Organisation, Churachandpur (KSO) today extended its support to the proposed 12-hour band called by the All Tribal Students’ Union Manipur in the hill districts of Manipur on April 4 and said that the proposed bandh will be fully enforced in Churachandpur district.
The KSO’s Churachandpur unit has requested the public to finish their urgent errands before 6:00 AM or do it after 6:00 PM as the organisation will endorse the 12-hour total shutdown called by ATSUM tomorrow in all the hill districts.
It may be mentioned here that the ATSUM has called for the 12-hour bandh in the wake of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) authority’s failure to rectify the reservation discrepancies and failure to nullify the Lower Division Clerk (LDC) result.
KSO has strongly condemned the deliberate and exploitative act of RIMS authority against the tribal community and said that it amounts to the deprivation of the constitutional rights of the tribals of Manipur.
Furthermore, the KSO viewed the discrimination of tribal communities seriously and demanded that the recently released LDC test results be immediately annulled.
