Inpui, Liangmei, Ziangmei, Rongmei boosts Manipur’s war on drugs

The joint tribes’ council representing the 4 tribes became the third body to back the government’s war on drugs in a span of a week.

The Manipur Government’s war on drugs received yet another big boost today with the joint tribes’ council comprising the Inpui, Liangmei, Ziangmei and Rongmei tribes from Tamenglong and Noney districts extending their support to CM N Biren Singh’s crackdown on drugs.

The joint tribes’ council representing the 4 tribes became the third body to back the government’s war on drugs in a span of a week.

Earlier the Poumai Naga body and the Tangkhul community of Ukhrul extended support to the war on drugs taking a pledge to ban poppy cultivation in their respective areas.

The Joint Tribes Council also pledged not to allow poppy cultivation in areas under their jurisdiction in Tamenlong and Noney.

Appreciating the move by the Joint Tribes Council, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said it is another great achievement in the war on drugs.
