The political landscape of Manipur has entered a phase of uncertainty following Chief Minister N Biren Singh’s resignation today.

Now the big question is, If the Cenrte is not bringing Manipur under President’s Rule then who will be the next CM? Because Biren Singh cannot remain a caretaker for long.

Accepting his resignation, Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla asked N Biren Singh to continue in office as a caretaker Chief Minister until alternative arrangements are made.

Meanwhile, the assembly session was suspended a day before it was supposed to start as CM N Biren Singh stepped down. The BJP leadership now faces the challenge of finding a successor to Biren Singh while managing internal dissent and opposition pressure.

If the President’s Rule had been imposed, it would allow the Centre to suspend the State Legislature and govern the state directly through the Governor’s office.

Singh’s resignation comes after a crucial meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi earlier today, amid growing dissent within the BJP’s state unit.
