In a huge success for law enforcement in Manipur, teams of Imphal West Commando on Saturday arrested 2 active cadres of the UNLF outfit near Imphal West Employment Exchange in Lamphel.

The arrest was made during a frisking and checking operation, the 2 individuals were asked to stop for checking, instead the cadres tried to escape from the spot. Following which the commando team chased and captured the cadres.

The UNLF cadres have been identified as Ningthoujam Yamba Singh and Waikhom Ajit Singh both from Keirao Bitra Awang Leikai.

Two mobile handsets, two pistols including a .32 pistol along with one magazine and 3 rounds of. 32 ammunition and another .38 pistol along with one magazine have been seized from the militants.

Meanwhile the arrested cadres have been handed over to Lamphel Police Station for further necessary action.
