Crackdown on drugs in Manipur: 1 arrested, cash mobile recovered
The accused has been identified as Paoneh Khongsai, aged 42, years hailing from L Colon Village.
In yet another breakthrough, the Churachandpur police on Friday intercepted a drug trafficker in the Thingkhangphai area of Manipur.
Based on reliable information, a team of Churachandpur police station detected about 1 Kg of contraband Opium and cash of Rs 50,000 kept and concealed inside the tool box of the trafficker’s white Activa.
The accused has been identified as Paoneh Khongsai, aged 42, years hailing from L Colon Village.
Khongsai was arrested at 6:30 pm. Moreover, a case has been registered against him at the Churachandpur Police station for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the opium was packed and sealed in the presence of witnesses along with the seized cash, the Activa, and a mobile phone.
