Crackdown on Crime in Manipur: Two bike lifters arrested at Porompat Pangal

On further interrogation, the bike lifter admitted that he and another individual Dinesh Singh had been running the bike lifting racket.

The Manipur police have intensified the crackdown on vehicle lifters in the state. As part of its mission, the anti-vehicle theft cell arrested a bike lifter from the Porompat Pangal area.

The accused bike lifter has been identified as L Meghajit Singh.

On further interrogation, the bike lifter admitted that he and another individual Dinesh Singh had been running the bike lifting racket.

Besides, the police also busted a secret workshop operated by the duo to modify stolen 2-wheelers. Further probe into the matter is underway.

Earlier on April 22, three persons were nabbed at Kakching for allegedly lifting two-wheelers.

Police said during routine checking, a team of Kakching Police detected two bikes which were proceeding toward Moreh without any proper papers.

The three alleged accused were identified as Paominlen Guite (39), Haomilen Mate and Lhunmilal Guite.
