Congress ready to raise Manipur issue in the Parliament: Manipur Cong president K Meghachandra after meeting party chief Mallikarjun Kharge

This time Manipur voted for compassion, peace and harmony, said Mallikarjun Kharge after meeting party leaders from Manipur in New Delhi
With the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha underway, the opposition Congress is planning to corner the ruling party with different issues including the Manipur crisis as one of the top agendas in the House.
After a meeting with Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and party MP Rahul Gandhi, Manipur Congress president, K Meghachandra Singh on Monday said that the party will raise the Manipur issue in the Parliament.
The Manipur Congress president speaking to newspersons said, “There were discussions on Manipur. We spoke about raising our Manipur issue in the Parliament. Incidents are still happening in our state. So we discussed that the matter should be raised in the Parliament.”
Sharing further details about the meeting between the Congress high command and party leaders from Manipur, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge in a post on X wrote, “This time Manipur voted for compassion, peace and harmony.
PM Modi’s abject apathy towards the people of Manipur was resoundingly rejected. BJP State Govt is complicit in failing to prevent violence, even as tens of thousands of people still suffer the unending circle of turmoil.
We met @INCManipur leaders and discussed ways to alleviate their pain.”

Earlier, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge criticised the central Government over the Manipur issue. The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha began on Monday with the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected MPs including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
