Churachandpur Blast: Injured person admitted in hospital is serious

An explosion took place in the heart of Churachandpur district in Manipur last evening creating sensation in the area.

One person who was injured in the incident is undergoing treatment at the Raj Medicity Hospital in Imphal where his condition is reportedly serious.

As per inputs, the victim noticed smoke coming out of a gift pack lying nearby and poured water on it to douse the fire when the bag exploded.

Meanwhile, forensic teams from Imphal arrived at the spot at around 10.30 pm and inspected the site.

The team also collected debris and other evidence from the blast site.

However, the nature of the explosive is yet to be ascertained.
