Roshibina Devi Naorem, has made Manipur and the entire nation proud once again. She fell short of gold but not grit to win the Silver medal in the ongoing Asian Games at Hangzhou in China.
She signed off with a silver medal after a 0-2 defeat against Wu Xiaowei in the women’s 60kg wushu sanda final to add another feather to her cap.
The first round in the match went to Wu Xiaowei but Roshibina still had a chance to make a comeback. Though Roshibina attempted to get her hold of Wu’s leg to push her out to the edges, but was unsuccessful. Both players attacked each others thighs with quick kicks in the second round, with Xiaowei already leading with 1-0. But a kick in Roshibina’s torso from Wu towards the end sealed the victory for the Chinese. Judges ruled the second round too in favour of Wu Xiaowei.

Elated over her success, Roshibina seemed a bit upset as she could not make it for a Gold.

She said, “She (Wu Xiaowei) won the first round, but I gave all efforts in the second round for winning it, but that did not happen. There is loss and win in every game. But I will rectify my mistakes and make a comeback.
My next target is World Championships which will be held in November. I want to become a Champion there, I will train myself fully. I want to the dedicate the medal to the people of Manipur.
