In line with Manipur’s war on drugs 2.0, a team of CDO-IW arrested two drug peddlers from Thangmeiband Watham Leirak in Imphal during the wee hours on Thursday.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Md Muzamin Hussain and Md Amir Khan.

Police have also seized 27 plastic vials containing suspected heroin powder weighing approximately 34 grams, 2 mobile phones, a two-wheeler, and Rs 1380 in cash from the possession of the arrested duo.

Meanwhile, the arrested persons along with the seized articles were later handed over to Imphal police station for further necessary action.

In a separate seized of drugs, the Churachandpur Police have apprehended two individuals along with 100 soap cases of suspected heroin powder weighing about 1.26 kg.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the drugs were obtained from Myanmar side and further investigation is underway.

The accused were identified as Nemgneihoi Haokip and Nemjahat Haokip of Sarang Village, Saikul and Thadou Veng, Singhat respectively.
