100 Days- 100 Projects: Manipur to get International Cancer Hospital in Moreh

The statement was made by Manipur minister Letpao Haokip during a visit to the border town of Moreh on Wednesday.

In a big boost to medical infra in Manipur, an international cancer hospital is all set to be constructed at Haolenphai village along the Indo-Myanmar border.

Letpao Haokip along with PWD Minister Govindas Konthoujam and Education Minister Y. Khemchand paid a visit to Moreh to inspect the ongoing projects under the “100 days 100 projects” scheme.

During their visit, the ministers also inspected the 600-acre plot of land at Haolenphai village which is about 4-5 km from Moreh, that has been earmarked for the construction of the international cancer hospital.

Speaking with Northeast Live, minister Letpao Haokip stated that under the vision of PM Narendra Modi, Moreh being an international border town is all set to be modernized with the construction of an international cancer hospital.

Besides, the minister also stated that world-class education will be provided and in the near future Moreh will also be developed to be an attractive tourist destination.

The team of 3 Ministers also inspected the site where a District Institute of Education and Training or DIET Training Center is being constructed. The Ministers appealed to the chief of Haolenphai Village to donate more land to improve and develop the Centre to a high standard.

The team also inspected the Eastern Shine School which is being run by the Meitei Development Society under Meitei Council Moreh.

The Ministers further thanked the society members for providing free education to more than 150 students and also assured of adding classes 11 and 12 under the Government of Manipur in the school.
