Over 10 members are in the delegation which is led by Speaker Th Satyabrata Singh.

The delegation is expected to meet the Union Home Minister after the latter’s engagements in Guwahati today to mark the Himanta Biswa Sarma government’s two successful years in office.

Among those who were spotted at the LGBI airport, Guwahati were Manipur health minister Sapam Ranjan Singh, water resources minister Awangbou Newmai as well as MLAs of the NPP and the NPF.

Speaking to Northeast Live, health minister Sapam Ranjan Singh said, “We are here we will be trying to meet the Union Home Minister. We want to brief him about the situation in Manipur, that is why we are here. The timing of the meeting is not decided. There are few already here, and this around 10 of us have come. Members of all the ruling parties have come,” added the Manipur health minister.

It may be mentioned that the visit of the delegation comes after a number of sporadic incidents were reported in different parts of the state in the last 2 days. PWD minister Govindas Konthoujam’s residence was also vandalized by an irate mob yesterday in Bishnupur.
