A day after Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma watched the well-acclaimed movie The Kashmir Files along with his cabinet ministers and BJP leaders, now Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has also followed suit.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb also watched the movie along with his Cabinet colleagues, MLAs and other senior leaders of the state BJP in the Rupashi cinema hall on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters after watching the film, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said that the upcoming generation should know about the issue depicted in the movie for upholding the integrity of the nation.

The Tripura Chief Minister further lauding the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for abrogating Article 370 of the Indian Constitution, said that if this bold step was not taken, many more lives would have been lost in Jammu & Kashmir.

Earlier the Tripura government had declared exemption of the film from the state entertainment tax to encourage more people to watch the film.

It may be mentioned here that ‘The Kashmir Files’ written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits during the Kashmir Insurgency.

It stars ace actors like Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakravarty, Darshan Kumar and Pallavi Joshi, among others.
