Four women were killed in Tingkhong and Mora circle in Dibrugarh district of Upper Assam after a storm uprooted a bamboo tree under which the victims were taking refuge.

Meanwhile, one person died in Matia in Goalpara district after a bolt of lightning struck him.

Many houses have been heavily destroyed and road communication have been disrupted at many spots after uprooted trees fell and blocked the road.
