In the wake of the matriculation question paper leak in Assam, SEBA has issued a special SOP ahead of the general science and MIL-Assamese examinations to be held on March 30 and April 1.
Now under the new SOP, the examination will be held under strict restrictions, whereas:
• The package of question papers will be received by the officer-in-charge of the concerned police station in the presence of the centre-in-charge.
• The District Inspector of Schools will nominate the police officer in charge.
• Question paper sealed in cartons cannot be opened in the police station under any circumstances.
• The police escort will transport the sealed cartons to the centre, where they will be opened under CCTV surveillance in the strong room.
• Similarly, only the officials appointed by SEBA can take back the question papers after the examination.
On March 12, SEBA announced that a handwritten model question paper for the General Science exam, scheduled for March 13, had been spread on social media, thus cancelling the exam.
While Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday (16 March) asked SEBA to reschedule the Assamese paper exam after the arrested centre incharge of Luhit Khabalu HS School, during interrogation, confessed to leaking Assamese paper as well.
