School headmaster accused of molesting class 7 student in Assam

A shocking incident of sexual assault has come to light in Assam. A class 7 student was allegedly sexually molested by the school headmaster in Assam’s Karimganj district on Thursday.

The victim is a student at Bhanga Higher Secondary School, located in the Bhanga area of Karimganj district.

As per the locals, the headmaster, identified as Asab Uddin, allegedly called the minor into his room and tried to sexually molest her during school hours.

They also informed that there have been similar allegations against the headmaster in the past as well.

The incident came to light after the parents of the victim took the minor to Karimganj Civil Hospital and informed the locals of the area about the incident.

A case has been filed against the headmaster by the victim’s parents.

Uproar scenes were witnessed after the locals stormed the office of Karimganj SP, demanding the arrest of the headmaster of Bhanga High School.

The people have also sought Assam Chief Minister’s intervention and urged the Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, to take action against the accused.

Karimganj Additional SP Githartha Dev Sharma said that a case has been registered under the POCSO Act and that the accused will be arrested soon.

It may be mentioned here that the accused has been absconding since the incident came to light.
