The Assam State Zoo-Cum-Botanical Garden in Guwahati is set to receive a major upgrade aimed at elevating the facility to international standards.
The Assam Government in a Cabinet meeting on Friday has granted administrative approval for the comprehensive modernization project, with an investment of Rs 362 crore.
The ambitious plan aims to revamp the zoo’s facilities, providing state-of-the-art living conditions for its wildlife residents.
This modernization will include enhanced medical and quarantine facilities, ensuring better health care and safety for the animals.
Additionally, the project is expected to significantly boost tourist footfall, transforming the zoo into a premier destination for both wildlife enthusiasts and tourists.
