Ripun Bora paid 1.6Cr to AIUDF before Assam Rajya Sabha polls, claims Congress MLA

The row over the Assam Rajya Sabha election is refusing to die. Amidst blamegame between Congress and AIUDF over cross voting, it seems that the Congress is clearly a divided house.
In a shocking allegation, Congress MLA from North Karimganj Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha today said that Ripun Bora had paid Rs 1.60 crore to the AIUDF to secure his win in the election to the Rajya Sabha. Purkayastha said that he owes full responsibility of what has been revealed.
According to the North Karimganj MLA, the AIUDF had full control of the situation on the voting day for the Rajya Sabha elections, as far as the opposition camp is considered. However, an official reaction of Ripun Bora is still awaited.
This indeed is a big statement by Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha exactly a day after South Karimganj MLA Siddique Ahmed also alleged that he was targeted for not paying Rs 5 crore sought by AICC leaders for allotting ticket in the last assembly elections.
