Rebel Sena Camp in Ghy: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma invites MLAs of India to Assam
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that MLA’s are welcome in the state, adding that he has nothing to do with the politics of Maharashtra
As the political crisis in Maharashtra continues to mount for the Agadhi government as more MLAs continue to join Shinde camp, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma sought to downplay the camping of rebel MLAs.
Addressing the media, CM Sarma said that all MLA’s are welcome in the state, adding that he has nothing to do with the politics of Maharashtra where the survival of the Uddhav Thackeray-led government is at state after 38 of his party’s MLAs rebelled.
“Some people have come to Assam. They booked hotels. I am happy for that. You also come, it will help Assam’s economy. Through this, Assam’s tourism is also getting promoted,” he said after accompanying NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu while filing her nominations at the Parliament complex in the nation’s capital.
Commenting on the ongoing political developments in Maharashtra, he said he cannot comment on it as it is a big state. “How can I comment on Maharashtra. It is a big state. I am happy that people are choosing Assam as a preferred destination,” he said.
Meanwhile, a crucial meet of the Shiv Sena district heads in Maharashtra has been called under the aegis of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Ahead of the meet, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has said that veiled threats are being made against NCP chief Sharad Pawar. Raut targeted Union Home Minister Amit Shah saying that one of the union ministers is making comments on the Maharashtra situation and Sharad Pawar.
The Shiv Sena said that while they are low in numbers, they will now carry forward this fight in a legal way. He also said that process of action against the rebel MLAs has begun.
