Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh landed in Guwahati today at 11:40 am to attend a special function at the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra. Singh will be attending a programme to honour war heroes of the Indo-Pak war of 1971.
In Kalakshetra, Rajnath Singh would be especially honouring the war heroes hailing from Assam who gave their services and sacrifices for the country. Apart from honouring the martyrs, a total of 105 war veterans hailing from Assam would be provided with one-time financial assistance.
Joining the Union Defence Minister would be Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma among other top leaders and eminent personalities of the state. The programme is scheduled to begin at 1 in the afternoon.
Later in the day, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be visiting the ongoing seventh India Industrial Fair in Guwahati’s Khanapara area. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma will be accompanying him
Over 400 MSMEs from across the country and Northeast India will participate in the 7th India Industrial Fair from April 22 to 25 in Guwahati.
The fair is seen as a multi-modal platform addressing connectivity to different sectors of the business of North East and India to attract investments, especially in the manufacturing sector and market access to the MSMEs of this region.
Around 100000 Square feet of exhibition space is being constructed for participation. MSME stalls from across India, the majority from North-Eastern states will participate. There shall be multi-product & various live machine displays in the event to address the need of the industries & to witness the technology.
