President Ram Nath Kovind, who is on a two day visit to Assam, attended the Indian Air Force programme at the Air Force Station at Borjhar, Guwahati to present the Presidential Standards to 118 Helicopter Unit and Colours to Air Defence College.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Air Chief Marshall Birender Singh Dhanoa along with Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi were present during the programme.

While addressing the gathering, the President said that it is always a pleasure for me to visit Assam and  the northeast.

He said that India is ready to use it’s might to protect the nation and here he lauded the one one eight helicopter unit and the Air Defence College for their services to the nation.

An air display was also performed during the programme by Sarang, a display team of the Indian Air Force.

Meanwhile, addressing mediapersons after the event, IAF chief BS Dhanoa spoke about the Indian Air Forces’ modernisation plans. He also lauded the 118 Helicopter unit and Air defence college on the occasion.
