Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually lay the foundation stone for the Assam Advanced Health Innovation Institute (AAHII) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati, along with the inauguration of AIIMS Guwahati on April 14.
Assam Advanced Healthcare Innovation Institute is the first institute in the country to combine both engineering and medical science. It is set up in collaboration with the Assam government to transform medical science with the help of advanced technologies.
The mega project will be built on a total of 12 acres of land inside the IIT Guwahati campus, and Rs 560 crores have been invested for this project.
The institute is envisioned as a centre of excellence for innovation in cutting-edge health technologies and advancing the boundaries of knowledge in frontier areas of medicine.
The unique feature of this institute is that it will offer both postgraduate and PhD programmes in advanced medical science.
This institute will invite participation from intending parties, including corporations, business houses, research institutions, and philanthropic organisations.
