In a sensational incident, a 7-month-old baby went missing from Guwahati Medical College and Hospital premises where the baby had been brought in by her parents for medical treatment.
The missing baby has been identified as Priyam Kalita. The incident occurred in the wee hours of Wednesday while the child was sleeping with its parents in the hospital.
According to authorities, the baby’s father had given the baby to one unknown woman to pacify her as she was crying a lot.
Reportedly, the woman made off with the baby when the father dozed off for a while. Meanwhile, an FIR has been filed by the hospital authorities regarding the incident.
Meanwhile, GMCH Superintendent Abhijit Sharma stated that it was sheer carelessness on the part of the parents to hand the baby to an unknown person
“We are flashing the entire thing. Let’s hope we get the baby. And if the parents gave their baby to some unknown individual there is nothing much I can say. And after giving the baby, both the parents were sleeping which was sheer careless on the part of the parents,” Sharma further said.
