A Myanmar court has sentenced 24 rebels of the ULFA-Independent and other Northeast terror groups to two years in jail.

According to the Burma-based Irrawady newspaper, the Hkamti district Court in Sagaing region had issued the verdict sentencing the rebels to imprisonment.

The news portal also mentioned that the rebels were arrested on January 29, after the Northwestern Command of the Myanmar Army raided the headquarters of the NSCN-K in the Naga Self-Administered Zone of Sagaing division.

Reports are that the jailed rebels belong to the ULFA-Independent, Manipur Peoples’ Army, Peoples Liberation Army of Manipur, People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak.
